The health, safety and overall wellbeing of our community is always our top priority and we have been closely monitoring the rapidly-changing situation around COVID-19 (commonly referred to as coronavirus).
The City of Austin has closed all of its municipal pools effective March 15th (see http://austintexas.gov/news/modifications-city-operations-due-covid-19) and in an announcement distributed yesterday, March 15th, the CDC also recommends canceling events or gatherings of 50 people or more, for a time period of eight weeks. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/large-events/mass-gatherings-ready-for-covid-19.html
With this in mind we have made the following modifications to our event planning in the coming weeks.
- Delay Opening of the Pool Until CDC Event Restrictions have been lifted
- Live Stream Monthly Board Meetings in Lieu of In-Person Meetings (Details to Follow)
- Postpone all Community Social Gatherings until CDC Event Restrictions have been lifted including the following: Community Garage Sale, Park Reopening Celebration, Playgroup, In- Person Committee Meetings)
We will continue to monitor the latest information from the Travis County Public Health Department, the Texas Department of Health Services, and the City of Austin, in addition to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) and resume community events when it is safe to do so.
