President’s June 2019 Blog

The dog days of summer are upon us! A few summer tips..limit time in the sun during the hours of 10 am-2 pm, keep hydrated, wear sunscreen but most importantly have fun!

The HOA Board of Directors had their monthly meeting on Tuesday June 18, 2019. The Board has received bids from TF Harper and Associates LP and We Build Fun. We are awaiting a third bid from Total Recreation. We have blueprints of the park that we will post along with the blog post so you can see what our potential new playground will look like, thank you to Susan Curp for designing.

We have a completed the fence policy that you will be able to view on the website and this will be voted on at our next meeting.

We had a Lumen study done at the playground/pool parking lot to determine the appropriate amount of light being provided. It was determined that we do not have the minimum lighting required and it’s been recommended to add additional pole lights to increase the foot candle of the parking lot. We are currently receiving bids.

We are currently working on our budget for 2020. Some items on the list that will need repair/replacement/updating/purchasing in the future (not necessarily in 2020) as funds become available include but are not limited to,  pool fence, restrooms renovations, pool pump room, pool decking, area landscaping, basketball hoop backboards, basketball court color coat, amenities furniture. We encourage our HOA members to let us know of items you would like to see added to this list.

Our next social event will be our annual July 4th parade and pool party. We will begin our tradition with a parade starting at the end (cul-de-sac area) of Calavaras at 11:00 am. We will travel south on Calavaras to Thatcher, turn left onto Thatcher and continue to the park/pool. Please bring your decorated bikes, scooters, strollers, dogs, little people, big people etc… in red, white and blue. Once at the park/pool we will have Kona Ice arrive at 12:30 for free snow cones and encourage swimming (with parent supervision for kids under 14 years of age).

Our next meeting will be Tuesday July 16, 2019 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 9500 Neenah Ave. Portable 1, at 7:00pm.
